The Snapper Villas at Spoon River College is a new, state-of-the-art student housing facility being constructed near the SRC Canton Campus for SRC students. This facility houses 84 students in 21 two-bedroom and four-bedroom apartments. Apartments are fully-furnished and include Energy Star appliances. Construction of the facility is ongoing and is scheduled to be complete by August 2017.
Affordable living near campus!
SRC students who meet certain requirements can apply to live in Snapper Villas, regardless of where you're from! Double occupancy rooms begin at just $375 per month, and single occupancy rooms begin at $525 per month. Apartments are walking distance from your classes and activities at SRC.
Features and Services
All apartments include heat and air conditioning, with utilities and internet built into the rent. Twin beds, couches and barstools (at breakfast bar) are also included, along with full kitchens with Energy Star appliances. Food service (breakfast and lunch) is available for purchase on campus Monday through Friday. Each apartment has a number of bathrooms equal to the number of bedrooms, providing maximum comfort and privacy.
The Snapper Villas also includes a clubhouse, providing residents with 24-hour services. These services include laundry facilities (credit/debit only), vending machines, mail services, a resident-only fitness center, a huge social room (including soft seating, televisions and games), and a study room (including printing services). The Snapper Villas' property manager's office is also located in the clubhouse.
Parking and Access
Parking for residents of The Snapper Villas is available in a private parking lot adjacent to the Villas. This parking lot, along with The Snapper Villas, will be accessible from County Highway 22, just north of the main entrance to the SRC Canton Campus.
Student Safety is Paramount
The apartments and parking lots are well-lit and monitored by 24-hour surveillance cameras, and all residents are required to pass a background check prior to being allowed to move in. The buildings are secure access buildings and only residents of The Snapper Villas have access. The property is staffed by a full-time property manager, as well as 24-hour maintenance service and on-site Resident Advisers. The apartments are equipped with a sprinkler system as well as smoke and carbon dioxide detectors.
Several options and arrangements for leasing are available, and payment plans can be arranged. Rental payments include gas/electric, water, sewer, garbage removal and Internet service. In addition to rent, a $150 reservation fee is due at the time of signing housing agreements, and a $50 event fee is due before moving in (for resident events and programming). All residents must pass a background check.
