Spoon River College needs your help to select a new design concept for our new mascot, The Rage (as in "raging river").

Express your preference by sending an e-mail to mascot@src.edu. In the body of your e-mail include your full name, student ID number, and the NUMBER of the design that you prefer. Voting will continue through May 7.

Spoon River College students have chosen the future mascot of the college.  The winning entry is RAGE, submitted by student Emily Valencia.  "The name is a connection to the Spoon River which runs right through the center of the college's district," said Valencia.  "The name reflects the image of a 'raging river'."

The next step in the process is for students in the art program at the college to design an image to reflect the new name.  The students will create several design options which in turn will be voted on by the student body.

The winning entry was submitted by SRC student Robert Ackerman. He is the winner of a $50 gift card.

Spoon River College needs help from our students to select a new MASCOT for the college. 

THIS CONTEST BEGINS FEBRUARY 1, 2010

Here's how you can help and possibly win a cash prize!

1. Currently-enrolled students can submit their ideas for a new mascot through the month of February 2010.
2. Submit your ideas by e-mail to mascot@src.edu.  Along with the mascot name, be sure to include your full name, student ID number, e-mail address, and a telephone number where you can be reached.
3. One weekly college-wide finalist will be selected by the Student Government Association (SGA) in Canton and Macomb.
4. Each weekly finalist will receive a $50.00 cash prize.
5. The four weekly finalists will make up the balloting for a mascot name that will be held in March. The Vice President of Administrative Services will assist the Oversight Committee to have the four finalists reviewed by legal counsel for possible trademark violations.
6. The student submitting the winning mascot name will receive an additional $100.00 cash prize.
