Snappers STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER Pledge

In the state of Illinois and at SPOON RIVER COLLEGE, we are ALL IN this together!

We can ALL do our part to help maintain the well-being of ourselves, our family, our friends, our colleagues, our classmates, our campus, and our local communities.  Take this pledge, and commit to staying healthy together!

WHAT is the Snappers STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER Pledge?

The Spoon River College HEAL (Healthcare Enthusiasts And Leaders) Student Association has put together a simple, voluntary commitment that all students, faculty, and staff can participate in! This Pledge will show our SRC campus communities, our local communities and the state of Illinois that we care about the health of ourselves and others!

WHY do we have a Snappers STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER Pledge?

As the effects of this pandemic impact our friends, our families, our local communities, our country and our world, we at SRC, want to commit to protect the health and safety of our college and our campus community. Being an SRC Snapper and being loyal to our College community means that each of us must take the necessary steps to stay well and persistently protect each other on our campus and in our local communities.

To participate, sign the pledge and follow the 4 W's of the Snappers STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER Pledge;

  1. WASH your hands!  I will frequently wash my hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after I have been in a public place, or after blowing my nose, coughing, or sneezing.  If soap and water are not available, I will use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  2. WEAR a face covering!  I will wear a face covering, especially when social distancing cannot be maintained effectively.
  3. WATCH your distance!  When going out in public, I will stay 6 feet away from other people and I will do my best to avoid crowded places.
  4. WELLNESS self-check!  I will conduct a wellness health assessment on myself every morning and I will watch for symptoms of COVID-19.  I will stay at home if I don't feel well, and I will contact a physician to discuss any symptoms that are severe and concerning to me.

TOGETHER we can STAY HEALTHY!  We can educate ourselves on how to slow the spread of infectious disease and we can encourage others commit to staying healthy AND we can ALL do our part and help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases such like COVID-19!

At any time, IF you become sick or begin experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please fill out this form.  We will follow-op with you to provide the support and guidance in completing your courses, provide emotional support, and a list of community resources to help support you during this difficult time.
